The Ghost Planet Spaceship Absolution, often referred to simply as The Absolution, is Cartoon Network and Adult Swim's current intergalactic broadcast vehicle. The vessel was bought by Moltar in order to explore new galaxies, but he could not run it. Instead, Moltar chose a robot named TOM, after having seen his bravery in the face of metal-eating creatures (Nebula Rays) in the Toonami Swarm webcomic. During the events of The Intruder, an engine was blown off in order to free the ship of a mysterious red goop; it was then repaired with two new engines. In the webcomic Toonami: Endgame, the space pirate Orcelot Rex forced his way into the Absolution, and it was destroyed; TOM then acquired a new ship, dubbed the Absolution Mk. II. In 2007 it was removed and Toonami was hosted by TOM without the ship until the block's demise in 2008. When Toonami was revived in 2012, an updated HD version of the Absolution Mk. II was introduced and dubbed the Mk. II.5. A year later the Absolution Mk. III was introduced, piloted by TOM 5, and served as the broadcasting station for Toonami until it was destroyed during The Intruder II. It was succeeded by the Vindication as the Toonami flagship. Eventually, the Vindication was left in the hands of the Yellow TOM units, leaving TOM and SARA aboard the Forge. In The Return, TOM and SARA acquired the Absolution Mk. XIV, a modified version of the original Absolution Mk. I from 250 years in the future. This new ship currently acts as Toonami’s broadcasting vessel.
