The Trash Compactor was the main antagonist of the Total Immersion Event (T.I.E.) Lockdown.

History

It is a giant structure floating through space that is fully automated and devoid of artificial intelligence. Its origin and purpose was unknown, but had damage, including a hole in the hull, prior to the arrival of the Absolution that appeared fairly old. The Compactor has a powerful tractor beam which, at the beginning of Lockdown has been left on for possibly thousands of years. As a result, dozens of ships and other debris have been caught in the beam and are slowly being pulled toward the compactor. The tractor beam is powerful enough that it shorted out the engines of the Absolution when it tried to pull away. There was a Security Robot left on the Compactor to guard the tractor beam. The DOKs ultimately defeated the Security Robot and destroyed the tractor beam.

In the final level of the Lockdown (T.I.E. Game), Sara discovered that "Due to a very serious computer virus that infected its central processor tens of thousands of years ago, this ship has become a giant eating machine, devouring and then re-processing anything in its path!" The level also referenced "a rare, cosmic computer virus designated as 22B-VRE.9" that was making the ship's robots defective, so it was likely the same virus that infected the ship.
